Aunty Ben

Aunty Ben was the flagship project of Sian’s theatre company, Super Paua, from 2014-2016 and is Ireland’s first LGBT-positive show for children aged 7+. Aunty Ben has been performed in festivals, public venues, schools and universities across Dublin, Brighton, Belfast and London, and recently received an American premiere in Philadelphia Fringe Festival, September 2017.

Nine-year-old Tracey loves her Aunty Ben. It doesn’t matter to her that Aunty Ben is actually her uncle, or that he is a Drag Queen, because in Tracey’s family dressing up is for everyone! But when Ben meets her school friends, Tracey is shocked to discover that other people’s families can be very different to her own. Featuring famous Irish drag queen Veda Beaux Reves, ‘Aunty Ben‘ is a colourful and playful exploration of gender, family, love and happiness, for young audiences aged 7+.
